Roundtable: Rep. Sinicki, Small Business Owners to Discuss What Wisconsin Families Need

CUDAHY, Wis.—On the heels of yesterday’s U.S. House of Representatives vote to move the Build Back Better agenda forward, Opportunity Wisconsin and Family Friendly Wisconsin will host a roundtable conversation with Wisconsin State Representative Chris Sinicki and Milwaukee area small business owners TOMORROW, August 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM to discuss the historic investments proposed in the Build Back Better agenda.

“The Build Back Better agenda includes bold investments that will ease the burden of high costs on working Wisconsin families and grow the economy by investing in small businesses and local communities,” said Brita Olsen, Family Friendly Wisconsin State Director. “We’re looking forward to being joined by Representative Sinicki and hearing from Milwaukee small business owners about what they still need from Washington to fully recover from the pandemic.”

Learn more about how the Build Back Better agenda is supporting small businesses.

The budget blueprint passed by the House of Representatives includes many provisions from the Build Back Better agenda. Specifically, the plan would lower the costs of prescription drugs, childcare and health care and create a national paid family and medical leave program so that everyone can take time away from work to care for themselves, a loved one or a new child.

The budget resolution won’t cost working families a dime. In fact, it will also lower their taxes. Congress can pay for these plans without raising taxes on anyone making under $400,000 by making the ultra-wealthy and big corporations pay what they owe.
